After earning my Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Asheville I moved to Chicago, lllinois, where I volunteered at a dual language program for children. I also volunteered as an ESL teacher in weekly classes for adult immigrants and refugees. While living in Chicago, I took a certification course administered through the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. This year at Lincoln is my first as as a full-time teacher.
My specialty is helping multilingual classrooms progress from pre-intermediate to conversational English. Having taken courses in Spanish and Russian, and attempting to learn Polish through independent study, I know how frustrating and rewarding learning a new language can be. I hope to dedicate my career to making English a more accessible tool for everyone.
